Having said all of that, Shattenkirk is currently an unrestricted free agent and is trying to find his next NHL home. After nothing 24 points in 61 games last season, it has been tough for Shattenkirk to find a team. However, there are certainly some franchises who are interested.

In fact, in the latest 32 Thoughts from Elliotte Friedman, it was revealed that Shattenkirk wants to go to the Edmonton Oilers. As it turns out, there is some mutual interest there as they need a right-handed defenseman.
