Matthew Tkachuk reveals Darryl Sutter's reaction to his Stanley Cup Win

Overall, the Oilers gave the Panthers a tough time. After going up 3-0 in the series, the Oilers forced a Game 7. However, the Panthers were able to get it together at the last moment, much to the delight of fans everywhere. Meanwhile, it was a huge moment for Tkachuk, who won his first cup after sustaining heartbreak against the Las Vegas Golden Knights last season.

In an interview with the Cam & Strick Podcast, Tkachuk revealed who the first person to text him was following his big win. As it turns out, it was none other than Darryl Sutter, his former coach with the Calgary Flames. For those wondering, it was a congratulatory text.

In another clip from the same podcast, Tkachuk spoke about how the Stanley Cup Final was not an easy one. However, he would not change a thing. Ultimately, their cup win was iconic, and whether you win the series in four games or seven, the result is the same.

Now, Tkachuk will be getting a Stanley Cup ring and there is nothing that can ever take an accomplishment like that away from him. Only time will tell whether or not he and the Panthers can go back to back.
