Katie Gaudreau makes change to her wedding ring in homage of her brothers
Katie Gaudreau was set to get married the weekend that a drunk driver killed her brothers Johnny and Matthew.
Earlier that day, Katie and the brothers were at her wedding rehearsal. The weekend was supposed to be magical but ultimately turned into a nightmare. Following the incident, the wedding was canceled and postponed. In the aftermath, Katie has since found a way to honor her brothers so they can be part of her special day.
As you can see in the image from her Instagram story, her wedding band will now have her brother's initials on them. This is an amazing idea that will bring a tear to your eye.
Earlier, Katie took to her Instagram where she offered a beautiful post about her brothers and just how much they meant to her. Your heart can't help but break for the family.
"That day.
Right in the middle of getting ready for the best day of my life the unthinkable happens that will change my life forever. I remember a week ago being in the hotel sitting with family and texting Devin about how we forgot to practice our dip. To think that was our biggest worry at this moment when in just a split second and a phone call later our lives would forever change.
Remember to tell your people you love them. I would do anything to tell my big brothers I love them one more time."
Our heart goes out to the Gaudreaus and the entire hockey world during this incredibly difficult time. He hope everyone is able to find peace as they grieve these senseless deaths.
