Hockey is a sport where fighting belongs, always has, and always will since players can take one of the best aspects of the game and create something new with it. People naturally become inventive as a result of this, and Ice Fights is one such sport. If you miss the old style of hockey where knockouts were always a possibility, you will adore this.
Check out this video, which is making the rounds on X, of an ice fight that features one of the wildest knockouts you'll ever witness. It ends in an instant victory with what is likely one of the most flawless right fists I have ever seen.
Ice Fights is a new mixed martial arts competition in which competitors wear headgear, gloves akin to those given by the UFC, and box while skating in an attempt to knock the opponent out.
That's just what happened in this instance when the combatant deflected a strike, built up momentum, then unleashed a right hand that knocked his opponent to the ice.
This may seem provocative to some, but it's not the first time we've seen an MMA-style combat league simulate a hockey game on skates.
If executed well, this is, in my opinion, incredibly entertaining and captures one of hockey's greatest moments, magnifying it into a larger spectacle.
