Former Edmonton Oilers GM Ken Holland may have just found his next job
Former Edmonton Oilers General Manager Ken Holland has had a pretty legendary career when it comes to the game of hockey and the NHL as a whole.
This past year, Holland stepped down from his role as the General Manager of the Oilers. After numerous successful seasons, Holland felt like it was time to pursue something else. When his time came to leave the team, the Oilers penned a heartfelt message on social media that proves just how respected Holland is.
"As we reach the end of his tenure as #Oilers GM & President of Hockey Operations, we thank Ken Holland for his contributions to the team over the past five seasons.
Under Ken's leadership, we had the second-best points % in the conference & five straight playoff appearances."
Recently, Sportsnet insider Elliott Friedman spoke about Holland's hunt for a new job. As he explains, Holland would like to get a job with a team. However, if that does not pan out, the NHL has already offered him an internal role.
"If he does not find something he likes with a team, NHL Hockey Operations has asked Ken Holland if he'd be interested in a role with the league."
This is certainly some good news for Holland and his professional ambitions. There is are a million reasons why the NHL would want him in their front office. Although at Holland's age, retirement would also be an understandable move. Either way, Holland remains ambitious.
