Conor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl helped lead the Edmonton Oilers to their first Stanley Cup Finals since 2006.

Of course, in the end, they lost to the Florida Panthers in seven games. It was a valiant effort, especially since the Oilers came back from 0-3 to tie up the series. However, by Game 7, there was no more gas left in the tank.
In a new video posted by Hockey Forever HQ, you can see some behind the scenes footage of McDavid and Draisaitl in the Oilers locker room. As you can see, they were absolutely distraught. However, it was not the captain who was talking to the team. Instead, it was a player with a bit more experience.

In the comments section of the post above, many fans took issue with McDavid's lack of leadership. They felt like it should have been him speaking to the room, especially after an awful Game 7 showing from the whole squad.
"Who's the captain again?"

"Why was it not the captain speaking?"

McDavid came through with 11 points during the Cup Finals, according to StatMuse. Although most of those points came in games 4 through 6. As for Leon Draisaitl, he was abysmal with only three assists to his name.
