Video Surfaces Of Head Coach Being Suspended After Attacking His Player
In recent developments, the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL have taken decisive action by suspending head coach Devan Praught indefinitely following an alleged on-ice altercation with a player during Monday's practice. Chad Leslie, the team's General Manager, made the announcement, citing a potential breach of the Western Hockey League Standards of Conduct.
The incident reportedly involved Praught engaging in a heated exchange with 17-year-old defenseman Josh Fluker, culminating in a video capturing Praught swinging his stick at Fluker. The WHL Security Network is actively reviewing the incident.
In the absence of Praught, Assistant Coach Taras McEwen will assume the role of head coach. This incident marks the second time this season that a WHL coach faces suspension for violating the Code of Conduct, underscoring the league's commitment to upholding high standards.
The WHL is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter, with no additional comments provided at this time.
