Massive Suspension Incoming To Devils Player After Brutal Two-Handed Slash
Things got a bit heated between the New Jersey Devils and the Philadelphia Flyers last night, leading to some action from the NHL's Player Safety folks.
In the closing moments of the game, during a routine change after a whistle, Travis Konecny from the Flyers decided to give Brendan Smith of the Devils a little nudge with his stick. Well, Smith wasn't having it, and he responded with a hefty two-handed swing of his own.
Now, Player Safety has scheduled a hearing for Smith today, and it's tough to picture a scenario where he doesn't find himself on the receiving end of a suspension. Retaliation is one thing, but swinging your stick like that? Not the best move.
