It is with heavy hearts that we share somber news from the hockey community this Monday morning. The Nipawin Hawks, a member of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL), announced the passing of their former player, defenseman Brady Grasdal, at the age of 21.

In a social media post, the Hawks expressed their grief over the untimely loss:

"The Nipawin Jr 'A' Hawks family mourns the heartbreaking passing of Brady Grasdal, who's tragically ended too soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and many teammates at this time. May you rest in peace, Brady."

The official announcement conveyed,

"We regret to announce the passing of Brady Grasdal, at the age of 21. Grasdal played for the Nipawin Hawks in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) last season."

During the 2022-23 season, Grasdal contributed one assist in eight games with the Nipawin Hawks, following two prior seasons in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League with the Portage Terriers.

Our sincere condolences go out to Grasdal's family, friends, and former teammates during this difficult time.
