Many scouts felt the Toronto Maple Leafs got a steal selecting Jeremy Bracco with the 61st pick in the 2015 NHL draft. The American put up solid numbers in the OHL, with many feeling he would have been a late first rounder if not for his size.

Unfortunately for Bracco he wasn't able to crack the Toronto Maple Leafs, failing to appear in an NHL game. The 25 year old spent three seasons with the Marlies of the AHL, and has his best by far in 2018-19 when he scored 22 goals and 79 points in 75 games.

Bracco is in the KHL applying his craft for Nur-Sultan Barys in the KHL. Last season, he had 14 goals and 40 points in 56 games. Things haven't gotten as well so far this season. Bracco has played in 6 games for Barys but only scored 1 goal.

Bracco was placed on waivers yesterday by Nur-Sultan.

As per KHL rules, teams have 48 hours to pick up Bracco's contract. If no one does, it will be officially terminated. His agent, Alyosha Pilko, told Championat.com that he finds the situation strange, even though it wasn't surprising.

"The decision on Jeremy Bracco by Barys was expected, but very strange. The player scored 40 points last year, and in his second year in the KHL he was ready to show even better results. We believe in Jeremy, we know him as a strong player. We will be looking for a new team to give Bracco the opportunity to show his best qualities on the ice and reboot his career."
