As the NHL approaches its Christmas break, three players find themselves on waivers. Washington Capitals Lucas Johansen, Pittsburgh Penguins Ryan Shea, and Buffalo Sabres Jacob Bryson face potential reassignment to their AHL affiliates if they clear waivers.
The announcement was made by CapFriendly, listing the players on the waiver wire:
Johansen, at 26, has contributed one assist, four penalty minutes, and holds a plus-one rating in six games with the Washington Capitals this season.
Shea, 26, in his debut NHL season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, has yet to register a point in 22 games, accumulating six penalty minutes and maintaining a minus-two rating.
Bryson, also 26, boasts the most experience among the trio, spending the majority of the last three seasons on Buffalo's NHL roster. In three games this season, the Ontario native has shown no points or penalty minutes and carries a minus-one rating.
The fate of these players will be decided after the waiver clearing on Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. ET.
