It is tradition that a rookie ahead in their first NHL game go for a solo lap at the start of warm-ups as the rest of the team waits in the tunnel allowing the player to soak in the moment.
When Connor Bedard and fellow Blackhawks rookie Kevin Korchinski hit the ice for the warm-up, neither player wore a helmet, which is required by the NHL rule book. Because they didn't wear a helmet, both Bedard and Korchinski will likely receive a fine from the National Hockey League on Wednesday morning.
Bedard went no bucket in warm-ups of his first game.
He doesn't give a shit about your $2,500 fine Gary 😂

There's a good chance that the Blackhawks told both Bedard and Korchinski they could take rookie lap without their helmets and that they would cover the fine from the league.
