Arizona Coyotes give their fans something to cheer for after years of being the punch line
The Arizona Coyotes have been an embarrassment to the NHL for years. From their arena situation, to their inability to get talent to play for the team and their abuse of LTIR players for salary cap purposes, the team has been part of a running joke.
After drafting Logan Cooley in 2022 the team tried to sign the top prospect, but he had no interest in signing with the team. It was reported Coyotes' players had advised Cooley from signing with the team while their arena situation was figured out. Fans justifiable became concerned when Cooley stated he planned on returning for another year of University.
Today those concerns have been alleviated as it was officially announced that Cooley had officially signed his entry level contract and will forego his final year of school.
This is a major victory for the franchise who now have something for fans to be very excited about. If the Coyotes can secure a new arena deal this could be the momentum the Coyotes need to head in the right direction.
