Claude Giroux and the Ottawa Senators were playing against the Toronto Maple Leafs last night at the Canadian Tire Center in Ottawa.

Overall, it was a good night for the Sens as they took home a 2-1 win. Moreover, Giroux even had an assist in the game. However, things didn't go so well for Giroux outside of the match. We say that because he was the victim of a senseless carjacking. This news comes from his wife Ryanne Giroux, who is also expecting a child soon.
On Wednesday morning, she tweeted about how their car had been stolen and that she could not get a hold of Ottawa police until 10 AM. She could also tell that the car was moving, presumably because of an airtag or something similar in the vehicle. Needless to say, not a great way to start the day.
"Good morning Ottawa! @28CGiroux's car was stolen last night and is currently actively driving unable to get ahold of
@OttawaPolice until 10am looking for other suggestions/to hear from other people in Ontario who have sadly had to deal with this recently."

Eventually, Giroux claims that she was able to get a hold of the police. However, whether or not they will actually be able to help, remains to be seen. If there is one thing for certain here, it is that the Ottawa Police are not coming out of this looking too good. The efficacy of the police in these situations has been debated before, and this is not going to help matters.
Hopefully, Giroux is able to get his car back and the carjacker is promptly arrested and hit with charges. Stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite players and teams.
