Throughout NHL training camp, teams have to make some tough decisions and no one understands that better than the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Overall, they have had to cut quite a few players so far. Now, the preseason has officially started which means players are being given an opportunity to show what they can do. If they are not good enough, they get cut or they go down to the AHL. For the younger players, they go back to their junior teams where they can continue to develop their skills.
This is what is happening to defenseman Noah Chadwick. Chadwick showed a ton of promise at training camp with the Maple Leafs. He is a big guy at 6'4 and after being taken 185th overall in the 2023 draft, the Leafs knew he would be a project of sorts. Fans have loved him, but now, Chadwick is going back down to the WHL where he will play with the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
With the Hurricanes, Chadwick is going to be the captain, at 19 years of age. It is going to be a big responsibility for him, but we're sure he is up to the challenge. In fact, he got some AHL experience last season, so this could be a fantastic way for him to continue building his skills before getting another chance with the Leafs. Only time will tell whether or not the kid is a bonafide star in the making.
Do you believe that Noah Chadwick can be a star in the NHL someday? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite players and teams.
