A few weeks ago, following the NHL Draft in Las Vegas, Jeff Marek of Sportsnet was fired from his role, despite being extremely beloved by his viewers.

Overall, this led to a whole lot of questions. In a report from The Athletic, it was alleged that Marek was fired due to suspicious activity involving scout Mark Seidel. Seidel is a scout in the OHL with his very own scouting company. As the report suggested, Marek was feeding Seidel draft picks ahead of time so he could then post about them on social media. Due to the proximity to Las Vegas, there were also some other alleged implications involved.

Today, Seidel revealed that he was fired from his job with the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League. In an emotional Twitter post, he noted how the business of hockey is unpredictable and sometimes very unfair.

In a report from BarrieToday, Seidel spoke out about his time working in hockey. However, he refused to talk about the Marek situation. Instead, he detailed how he has suffered from addiction and that it was one of the reasons why he was let go from the Minnesota Wild.

He claimed to have good relationships in the sport, and despite the bad things that were said about him to BarrieToday, he remains confident that he is well-liked. Needless to say, we have more questions than answers following his recent statements. Only time will tell whether or not we get any clarity on any of this.
