Evander Kane was injured all throughout the NHL playoffs and the Stanley Cup Finals, in particular.

Overall, this has led to a whole lot of speculation about Kane and his status heading into this season. Fans have been wanting to know more about what is wrong with him. This is especially true as there have been long-term injury reserve rumors and even trade rumors surrounding him.

Today, the Edmonton Oilers hosted a press conference and it was here where we finally learned the truth about Kane. As he explains in the video down below, he is currently suffering from two sports hernias. Additionally, he has two torn muscles in his abdomen.

He has to get surgery, and he does not have a timeline for his return. In fact, he must see doctors first, who will then give him the scoop on what's going to work best for him. Needless to say, there are a lot of unknowns for Kane right now.

That might be hard for a lot of Oilers fans to hear right now. After all, we're sure they would love for their guy to be healthy. But as you know, this is hockey, and injuries are going to happen. Hopefully, he can recover and be the player fans have come to love.
