Connor McDavid is easily one of the best players in the NHL and when all is said and done, he will likely be considered the greatest player of all time.
Having said that, there is no doubt that McDavid has a few more records left to break. At this stage, records are currently a hot topic of conversation thanks to Shohei Ohtani. He became the first baseball player to record 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases. At this stage of his career, some believe he is the best to ever do it. On 32 Thoughts, Elliotte Friedman and Kyle Bukauskas discussed what the NHL equivalent would be.
In the eyes of Friedman, he believes 100 goals and 100 assists would be the mark. Although this seems near impossible, Friedman and Bukauskas agreed that if anyone could ever do this, it would have to be McDavid. McDavid's highest goal total was 64, and he has certainly come close to 100 assists. Having said that, this really does feel impossible.
McDavid has other things to worry about this season. Of course, he is trying to get himself a Stanley Cup. That is the only thing missing in his career right now. However, it is going to be easier said than done. He has to bring his team back to the Cup Finals, and they have to go out there and win. The league seems wide open this season, so it should all make for a compelling year.
