Training camp is difficult for NHL teams, especially those who have players under PTO who could be on their last legs in the league.

The San Jose Sharks have a couple of PTO guys right now. In fact, one of the players they had under PTO was goaltender Aaron Dell. Dell had played with San Jose in the past but had also been part of the Buffalo Sabres. Last year, he spent a solid campaign with the Ontario Reign of the AHL. At 35 years old, this could be his last shot at NHL glory.
Well, it has been revealed that Dell was officially cut by the San Jose Sharks. Unfortunately, for him, the goalie room is just way too crowded right now. A lot of that falls on the trade made for none other than Yaroslav Askarov.
For those who may not know, Dell is a controversial figure as far as goalies go. Around the league, he is has a reputation for getting into altercations and making his teammates pay the price. One can just look at the time he speared Sam Bennett as an example of this.
Needless to say, there are some NHL fans who are not sad about his predicament. Having said that, you can't help but feel for a guy whose dream is slowly going by the wayside. Only time will tell whether or not another team will opt to take a waiver on his services.
Do you believe Aaron Dell's NHL career is officially over? Or is there a realistic scenario in which he is able to make a return to the league? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
