NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has spilled the beans on Ken Holland's strategy for the struggling Edmonton Oilers, and fans are expressing their discontent on social media.

Friedman unveiled that Holland's plan involves a somewhat hands-off approach, with the hope that Jack Campbell can rediscover his past successes to resolve the team's goaltending woes.

According to Friedman, Campbell has been given the green light to bring in Manny Legace, a former goaltending coach for CBJ, for a brief stint in the AHL. This collaboration traces back to their joint efforts last summer.

"I still do believe that it's [the Oilers'] first choice to have Campbell rejoin the team and improve his play," emphasized Friedman.

As the Oilers grapple with the need for a roster overhaul to salvage the season, it seems Ken Holland is opting for a less interventionist approach.

"EF at the intermission repeats the Oilers' first choice is to have Campbell rejoin the team and improve his play. The Oilers have given permission to Campbell to bring Legace with him to the AHL, Manny Legace is the former goalie coach with CBJ and worked with Campbell last summer."

This revelation hasn't sat well with fans, who took to social media to express their dissatisfaction with the notion that Holland sees bringing back Jack Campbell as the solution to their current struggles.

Clearly, Holland's choice to stay put and rely on Campbell poses a risk that fans fear could jeopardize the Oilers' season, which was initially seen as their prime opportunity to contend for the Stanley Cup.
