Edmonton Oilers Are Showing A Lot Of Frustration At Practice
The Edmonton Oilers continue to struggle early in the season, suffering a 4-3 loss to the Dallas Stars, leaving them with a 2-6-1 record and sixth place in the Pacific division.
This puts them behind only the Calgary Flames and San Jose Sharks in the NHL standings. The Oilers are currently a significant 16 points behind the division-leading Vegas Golden Knights.
In a season filled with high hopes, Oilers fans are beginning to question whether the team will even make the postseason. The frustration isn't limited to the fan base alone. During practice on Friday, goalie Stuart Skinner displayed his frustration by smashing his stick on the goal post and leaving the ice prematurely.
The disappointing start has hit Skinner hard, who struggled in the recent game with a .852 save percentage.
While Skinner was a Calder trophy finalist last season, his performance has yet to match that success. Currently, he holds a 1-3-1 record with a 3.62 GAA and an .861 save percentage. The Oilers will look to turn their season around as they face the Nashville Predators in an afternoon game on Saturday in Edmonton.
