Interestingly enough, there are some people out there who believe that Swayman is going to end up asking for a trade. This seems like a pretty drastic measure for both sides and no one is sure if that is going to happen. However, there is no doubt that some interesting trade proposals have surfaced online as a direct result of all of this.
Bruins reporter Jimmy Murphy recently floated around a trade proposal that is both intriguing and downright bizarre. Murphy even put it in a poll, asking Bruins fans if they would be happy with trading Swayman straight up one-for-one for Trevor Zegras of the Anaheim Ducks.
If anything, the Bruins would trade for John Gibson and not Zegras. Zegras doesn't really fit the culture or playing style of the team. However, it is interesting to note that based on the poll results, Bruins fans are overwhelmingly against a trade of this sort.
It just goes to show that the fanbase wants to retain Swayman. If they don't, they have no real starter, and that is a real problem. Hopefully, both sides are able to resolve their issues sooner rather than later.
