Minnesota Wild & St. Louis Blues prospects swapped for one another in rare trade
Today, the Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues were implicated in a trade involving some of their 2024 Draft Picks, however, this trade has no bearing on where they are going to play NHL hockey.
Ryder Ritchie, a second-round pick of the Minnesota Wild, was traded from the Prince Albert Raiders to the Medicine Hat Tigers. The return for Ritchie is St. Louis Blues fourth-round pick, Tomas Mrsic. Both players will remain with their respective NHL teams but are now moving WHL squads. It is a rare trade as players are seldom swapped one-for-one like this in the CHL.
With the Prince Albert Raiders last season, Ritchie had 44 points in 47 games. The right-winger also had seven points in five playoff games. As for Mrsic, he was solid as well with the Tigers, as he scored 62 points in 63 matches. In the playoffs, he went cold, scoring just one point in five games.
Do you believe that this is a good trade? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
