The hockey community mourns the loss of Jean-Guy Talbot, who passed away at the age of 91, as announced by the Montreal Canadiens on Friday.

In a statement, the Canadiens expressed their sorrow, saying,

"It is with great sadness that the Montreal Canadiens organization has learned of the passing of former defenseman Jean-Guy Talbot."

During his illustrious 17-season career in the NHL, Talbot showcased his talent with the Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues, Minnesota North Stars, and Buffalo Sabres, amassing 285 points in 1,056 games. Notably, he hoisted the Stanley Cup seven times as a member of the Canadiens.

Following his playing days, Talbot transitioned to coaching, serving with the St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers in the 1970s. Later, he returned to Quebec, where he pursued a career in the brewing industry.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Jean-Guy Talbot's family and friends during this challenging time.
