Calamity broke out during a women's college field hockey game between LaSalle and St. Louis over the weekend.

The game was taking place in Philadelphia at Temple University. As you can see in the clip below, everything was going normally, however, gunshots started to ring out. At first, the players seemed to be confused and were simply looking around wondering what was happening. However, eventually, it became crystal clear what was going on.

Subsequently, the players ran off of the field and the game was halted. It was all very scary, and many who were watching the game were absolutely mortified.

According to a report from The New York Post, the person who was shooting was targeting a nearby food establishment. They are currently on the run and police continue to investigate what went down.

" The offender fled the scene prior to police arrival," and "no shooting victims were located. The scene was secured, no arrest at this time, and no weapon recovered. The investigation is active and ongoing with Central Detectives."

"The shots were fired in the vicinity of an off-campus fast-food restaurant on Broad Street."

Meanwhile, the school has confirmed that none of the players were injured and harmed during all of this. Either way, this must have been scary and at least a little bit scarring given the circumstances.
