The NHL's newest team in Utah is gearing up for its inaugural season in 2024-25, and the recent announcements have shed light on who will be steering the ship both on the ice and behind the scenes.

Amidst a whirlwind of activity between the Arizona Coyotes and Utah's fresh franchise, things are starting to take shape as the transition becomes official. With plenty of unknowns still looming, the upcoming months are bound to be hectic.

New owner Ryan Smith made a significant reveal on Friday, confirming the Head Coach and General Manager positions with familiar faces from the Coyotes staying put. This continuity promises to maintain the team's promising trajectory and chemistry as they embark on this new chapter.

Ryan Smith confirms GM Bill Armstrong and head coach Andre Tourigny will remain with the NHL Utah franchise.

His message to the players: «We'll get everyone in the first year; it's your job to keep them there.»

While there are still many details to be ironed out, including the team name, colors, and plans for free agency and the draft, these initial announcements provide a glimpse into what's to come, with more clarity expected in the coming weeks.
