"ROSTER MOVE
LA Kings have placed dman Kim Nousiainen on unconditional waivers. He's heading back to Europe.
Orig drafted in 2019 (RD4), eventually signed an ELC and played the last 2 seasons in AHL Ontario. However, only suited up for 37, then 52 games. Didn't work out here."
After his 2021–22 season in Finland, 23-year-old Nousiainen traveled to North America to join the Los Angeles Kings, who had selected him 119th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
The product of Leppavirta, Finland, has played 52 games this season for the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League, collecting 26 penalty minutes and nine assists. In the following eight games of the Calder Cup Playoffs, he added two assists.
Kim Nousiainen's entry-level contract will expire at the end of the final year and he will become an unrestricted free agent if he clears unconditional waivers on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. ET.
