Frank Seravalli claims Vancouver Canucks top player embellished his injury
Reporter Frank Seravalli reveals Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson is believed to have exaggerated the extent of his injury.
Out of all the major sports, the NHL Playoffs are the hardest. It is rare for someone who has never played the game to comprehend the physical toll that a series can have on a player's body. Everyone agrees that hockey players are among the world's hardest athletes.
It is very uncommon for a player to invent injuries in order to justify their subpar performance. But that's precisely what anonymous sources are telling Frank Seravalli regarding Elias Pettersson's injury.
Pettersson said that he had a knee ailment in January that just continued getting worse in his year-end interview.
Multiple sources within the Vancouver organization have disputed the information, according to Seravalli. When Seravalli appeared on a podcast, she revealed the following.
How hurt was he?...The #Canucks ...they were, I think, jaws on the ground floored to hear Pettersson try to blame part of his issues & play on the knee...they were really surprised...a cop-out.
Seravalli also pointed out that Pettersson never missed a practice or game, and that his agent stated at no point did EP ever meet with a doctor.
Seravalli: Why does 1 player creating an excuse out of the clear blue sky...
Sekeres: It's not that Frank. No 1 is doubting he felt some knee pain.
Seravalli: Nucks felt he was 15/17 most injured player on team
If this is accurate, Pettersson truly lacks heart and leadership. a player who prioritizes his own safety over the good of the team. If this is accurate, it's difficult to believe Pettersson will spend much more time in the Vancouver locker room given his new contract since once confidence is lost in a locker room, it's hard to regain.
