In Saginaw, Michigan, the 2024 Memorial Cup is in full swing south of the border. On Monday night, the London Knights, the OHL winners, faced the Moose Jaw Warriors, the WHL champions.

The London Knights had one victory going into Monday's play, while Moose Jaw was searching for their first victory following their loss to the Saginaw Spirit, the host team, on opening night.

Frustrations flared during the second period as both sides sought a crucial victory in the standings ahead of this week's playoff round. Forward Max McCue of the London Knights dropped the mitts on defenseman Kalem Parker of the Moose Jaw Warriors.

McCue easily prevailed in the fight, but everyone's eyes were focused on the TSN camera. As goals are scored at the World Juniors, TSN has a camera on the ice. However, since fights are prohibited at the international level, this was likely the first time that anyone had watched a fight from this angle.

The London Knights went on to win the match by a score of 5-4, improving to 2-0-0 overall and even the standings with Saginaw. On Wednesday night, the two OHL teams will square off; the victor advances to the Memorial Cup Final, while the loser has to contend with the semi-final on Friday.

The Moose Jaw Warriors now have a record of 0-0-2. The second semi-finalist will be determined by the outcome of their game tomorrow night against the Drummondville Voltigeurs, the QMJHL champions; the losing team will be eliminated from the competition.
