An account going by the handle @anaheimd_memes posted the leak on X early on Monday morning. They claimed to have discovered it following an upgrade from Apple to the Honda Center app, which is the Anaheim Ducks' home field.
The new Mighty Ducks emblem isn't all that different from what the team wore on their orange alternate jerseys from 2015 to 2017 and again from 2019 to 2023, as you can see in the pictures below.
The eye and the hockey sticks in the emblem have undergone the most modifications. The eye is now orange rather than black, and the sticks are now orange as well. As you can already tell, orange will be used as the primary color throughout the entire uniform. There's a streak of sparkling gold above the eye.
According to this leak, almost every other component of the prior alternate logo has not altered. The triangle is still gold, and the Mighty Duck mask is still white with a black circle surrounding it. Until it's officially announced, we'll have to wait and see, but according to a recent Icethetics story, the uniform might include more of that shimmering gold, a la Vegas Golden Knights home jersey.
Hockey fans have been calling for the reintroduction of the Mighty Ducks logo for years, not just those who support the Anaheim Ducks but hockey fans in general. One of hockey's most popular logos, it evokes a lot of nostalgia for children growing up in the 1990s and early 2000s.
Although the Ducks' official unveiling of their new home and away uniforms this week is still unknown, it is most likely to happen on Friday night during the opening round of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft in Las Vegas. And that night, we won't have to wait too long because the Anaheim Ducks are scheduled to pick third overall.
