Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Gaudreau were killed on Thursday by Sean Higgins, who admitted to driving drunk during the incident.

Since that time, Higgins has become public enemy number one on social media. So much so that people online are going out of their way to harass his family and even attempt to doxx him. Overall, this is unacceptable behavior, regardless of what he has done.
This is especially unacceptable as an innocent man is now being caught in the crossfire. According to reporter Russ Joy, there is another man from New Jersey who also goes by the name Sean Higgins. As Joy revealed, the second Higgins was at a concert with his daughters at the time of the tragic incident. However, fans have begun leaking his location, which ultimately puts him at risk for in-person harassment.
This is truly heinous, and fans need to understand how their actions can affect people. There are much better ways to honor the Gaudreaus then trying to doxx people who are ultimately innocent in all of this. Hopefully, the innocent Sean Higgins is left alone and is able to live his life in peace.
Since the passing of Johnny Gaudreau, some fans have suggested that the NHL should rename the Lady Byng after him. The logic here is that Gaudreau has won the award before. Furthermore, the award is turning 100 years old, which would make next season the best time to make a change. Only time will tell whether or not the NHL takes such advice.
Do you believe the NHL should rename the Lady Byng after Gaudreau? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
