Patrik Laine hit with wave of negativity after wearing Habs jersey for the first time

Patrik Laine was traded from the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Montreal Canadiens recently, and as you can imagine, fans are very excited about it.

Overall, Laine has a history of being an elite goal-scorer. However, in recent years, his off-ice issues have kept him from being the best version of himself. Now, he will have a fresh start in a new city where the expectations are fairly low. Sure, he is playing in a massive hockey market. That said, the fans know not to expect too much from a player who is fresh out of the player assistance program.

Recently, Laine got to wear his Montreal Canadiens jersey for the very first time. Below, you can see how the star player looks in his new threads.

Unfortunately, fans still found a way to be negative about Laine's;latest endeavor. Below, you can see a bunch of tweets in which fans made of Laine for his outfit. In fact, it appears as though fans were mostly upset with his pants, which were white and black with a unique pattern.

Once again, this shows that everything Laine does is controversial these days. There are some fans who are extremely cynical of every single thing he does. The man could cure cancer, and some NHL fans would still find a way to hate home him. It's sad, but in the world of social media, that's what happens nowadays.
