While four players landed on yesterday's waiver list, only one did today - but it came as a surprise to many.

Coming from a report today by NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, the Columbus Blue Jackets have placed Liam Foudy on waivers, hoping he passes through to report to their AHL affiliate.

Foudy, only 23 years old, was drafted 18th overall by the Jackets only five seasons ago, in the 2018 draft. He's only appeared in 90 games with the team since making his debut in the COVID-shortened 2019-20 season.

Last season was Foudy's best of his career, but still produced lacklustre results. In 62 games, Foudy registered only seven goals and fourteen assists.

Not far removed from his draft year with development stunted by the COVID seasons, it seems very probable that another team will take a chance on Foudy and claim him on waivers. If he clears however, he'll be reassigned to Columbus' AHL team, the Cleveland Monsters.

Elliotte Friedman also mentioned that the three players on waivers yesterday - Jansen Harkins (Pittsburgh), Radim Simek (San Jose), Zack MacEwen (Ottawa) - have all cleared waivers and will be assigned to the AHL.
