Proof Emerges Of The NHL Rigging Games In Favour Of The Maple Leafs
The NHL's claim of unbiased scheduling seems hard to buy, especially when you look at recent examples like the Arizona Coyotes. However, it's not just them; the Toronto Maple Leafs are now under the spotlight, particularly during the Global Games in Sweden.
On Twitter, a vigilant NHL fan shed light on the league's game scheduling, and it's not painting Gary Bettman, Bill Daly, and the NHL in the best light. Four teams, including the Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota Wild, Ottawa Senators, and the Toronto Maple Leafs, played two games each in Sweden.
The Maple Leafs, however, seemed to get the upper hand with two away games against teams playing back-to-backs. The first was a victory against the Detroit Red Wings.
Twitter user @PragueSenator pointed out the apparent imbalance:
"The 'fair' schedule of #NHLGlobalSeries... While playing against tired teams, the Leafs will be able to bring in more revenue as well as get the most rest."
With a win in their first Global Series game, the well-rested Maple Leafs are poised for success in the upcoming match. Is Gary Bettman orchestrating things once again?
