NHL reveals critical dates throughout the season
The NHL head office keeps an ongoing calendar of the league's most critical dates, including the trade deadline, qualifying offer deadlines, draft days, and much more. Each year, the league circulates a 'Critical Dates Calendar', which helps teams, media, and fans to plan and prepare for these pivotal dates in the NHL season.
Usually, this calendar is finalized around the start of preseason, but today the league made a significant change. NHL insider Chris Johnston reported that the league distributed the memo below.
The NHL has circulated an updated critical dates calendar to clubs for the 2023-24 season.
It has marked off June 28-29, 2024 for the Draft but doesn't include a location.

The NHL has desired a draft in Vegas for some time, and it appears they may be bringing that to reality this year. While the league hammers out final details of the draft, the dates will likely be announced soon.
