NHL Veteran Officially Makes Return With Top Contender
Earlier this week, Michael Russo from The Athletic hinted at the imminent return of veteran forward Zach Parise to the NHL, specifically with the Colorado Avalanche.
Just moments ago, Parise officially signed a one-year deal with the Avalanche, as confirmed by Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff.
«Zach Parise's deal to join #GoAvsGo is 1 year, $825,000. He does not have any potential performance bonuses.»
Surprisingly, Parise's one-year deal comes with a straightforward cap hit of $825,000 and lacks any performance bonuses. This contrasts with the usual practice of veterans securing additional compensation based on games played, points, and playoff success.
At 39 years old, Parise, who has yet to hit the ice this season, previously demonstrated consistent performance as a depth forward with the New York Islanders. This move has the potential to be a subtle but effective addition to the Avalanche, addressing their need for additional scoring depth.
