NHL Fans Get Emotional Over Touching Ceremony Hosted For Adam Johnson
Adam Johnson: Fond Memories and a Call for Safety
The hockey community mourns the loss of former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Adam Johnson. He tragically passed away due to a skate cut to the throat while playing for the Nottingham Panthers in an EIHL game.
Johnson, who played 13 games for the Penguins between 2018 and 2020, left a lasting impression on Penguins' captain Sidney Crosby. Crosby remembered Johnson as a great teammate with an exceptional attitude and a remarkable skating ability.
Crosby on the loss of Adam Johnson: "It's something that we've all been thinking about. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. Just a great guy, a great teammate, had an awesome attitude while he was here. Just genuinely happy to be playing in the NHL."
A touching ceremony was held by the Penguins in his honor before a recent game, bringing a tear to many fans and players eyes.
