At last year's Trade Deadline, Matt Dumba's name was one of the more intriguing names floating around out there in the rumor mill. With Dumba expected to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, the Minnesota Wild made the decision to try and recoup some assets for Dumba. However, they were unable to do so.

Dumba hasn't been the picture of health during his NHL career, missing a LOT of time between 2018 and 2023, but he did put up 50 points in 82 games back in 2017-18 and followed it up with 22 points in 32 games in 2018-19. That's why a recent report from Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli is so surprising.
Per Seravalli, the Wild were unable to move Dumba at the deadline because none of the other 31 NHL teams had any interest in acquiring him.

Dumba recently signed a 1-year deal in Arizona worth $3.9M after failing to find a deal with a contending team. The hope for him this season is to remain healthy, be productive and show teams that he can still play at a high level in hopes of securing a new deal with a contending team next summer.
