Ilya Samsonov unveils new tribute mask for Maple Leafs legend
When it comes to iconic masks of many hockey fans' childhoods, there were always a few that stood out. For many the masks of Eddie Belfour, Curtis Joseph and Felix Potvin stood out as unique and iconic. Their incredible design and detail always seemed ahead of their time and would allow them to be featured prominently.
Today, Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Ilya Samsonov revealed his brand new mask for next season, and it immediately drew a positive reaction. Samsonov's new mask played a tribute to Maple Leafs' legend Curtis Joseph. The iconic design is easy to spot and a perfect way for Samsonov to pay tribute to those who came before him.
This tribute to Joseph will certainly be well received from fans and should put Sammy in the conversation for one of the best looking masks in the league.
