Heavyweight tilt in the desert between Liam O'Brien and Ross Johnston
The Anaheim Ducks and the Arizona Coyotes faced off in a rare afternoon game, which turned out to be a very physical affair between the pair.
With the score 1-0 Coyotes during the second period, Coyotes forward Liam O'Brien and - newly acquired Ducks forward Ross Johnston, drop the gloves for a heavyweight tilt, take a look.
Ross Johnston and Liam O'Brien have had enough and drop the mitts! 🧤
Johnston was no doubt trying to spark his club and make a statement with his new team, originally it doesn't look like O'Brien wants to go at all, but before long, the gloves are down and the two are throwing haymakers.
Johnston does seem to land the cleaner of the shots, but credit to both players for throwing down. The 6'1 213 lb O'Brien was giving up some size to his 6'5, 234 lb combatant.
Also, the officials actually move the nets here to make sure both players avoid injury while they're going at it, which is amazing to see.
Johnston won the scrap on behalf of his Ducks but it was the Coyotes who took home the two points with a 2-1 victory.
