Elite young defenseman leaves practice abruptly with an apparent injury; team provides update
The pre-season is such an exciting time, as it triggers the end of a very long off-season and the start of a new hockey season. That excitement can quickly turn to concern, however, when one of your team's top player suffers an apparent injury. Such is the case for Buffalo Sabres and defenseman Rasmus Dahlin.
It's not exactly clear whether Dahlin was hit in the hand with a stick or a puck. But this is a sight that Sabres fans don't want to see. Dahlin exploded offensively last season, recording 73 points in 78 games for the Sabres. There's no question that, if he were to miss time, it would be catastrophic for the Sabres, who are hoping to finally qualify for the playoffs this season.
Thankfully, a subsequent report has since come out indicating that Dahlin was able to escape any serious injury.
