On Friday the Columbus Blue Jackets made a surprising move, placing former 1st round pick, Liam Foudy on waivers. The Jackets had hoped he would clear and could be sent to the AHL. Well, that was not the case.
According to TSN's Chris Johnston, the Nashville Predators have placed a claim on Plucking him off of waivers from the Columbus Blue Jackets.
"Nashville claims Liam Foudy off waivers from Columbus." Johnston said.
Foudy, 23, played his first full season in the National Hockey League in 2022-23, appearing in 62 games where he put up 14 points (seven goals, seven assists), eight penalty minutes and was a minus-26.
The 2018 18th overall pick's time with the Blue Jackets didn't go as many within the organization had hoped, but now Foudy will get a fresh start with the Nashville Predators in hopes of keeping his dream of being a full-time NHL alive.
