2018 Hockey Team Canada Scandal Investigation Has Finally Been Completed, Leaving Players Suspended
In a significant development, Hockey Canada has brought closure to its investigation into members of the 2018 Gold Medal-winning team, featuring notable players like Cale Makar, Carter Hart, and Jordan Kyrou.
The investigation's conclusion results in a suspension for all players from the 2018 National Junior Team, pending further notice from Hockey Canada.
In November 2022, an independent adjudicative panel received Henein Hutchison Robitaille LLP's final investigative report regarding allegations against the 2018 National Junior Team in June 2018. The panel was tasked with holding a hearing to determine whether certain members breached Hockey Canada's code of conduct and, if so, what sanctions should be imposed.
A subsequent appeal, in accordance with Hockey Canada's procedures, prompts a confidential in-camera process, preventing the release of report details, including findings.
Hockey Canada's official statement sheds light on the investigation's status, maintaining a veil of confidentiality as the appeal process unfolds, leaving the hockey community eager for further developments in this ongoing narrative.
