According to an insider, Sasha Barkov, the captain of the Florida Panthers, may have broken his jaw as a result of a hit by Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl.

Forward Leon Draisaitl decided to give a dubious hit with the Edmonton Oilers behind late in the game. During the play, the forward stepped off the ground and struck Florida Panthers captain Sasha Barkov in the face with an arm.
Draisaitl was given a minor penalty on the play, but if the league decides to review the hit, he may get more punishment. Barkov left the ice with trainers following the blow and did not come back for the rest of the contest.
There are currently rumors that the forward may have sustained a catastrophic injury that could finish his season, despite the fact that many believed Barkov might have stayed in the locker room out of prudence. A report suggests that Barkov might have suffered a broken jaw during the play.

With a 2-0 series lead, the Panthers could face significant challenges if their captain is out for the season. It would permit. Connor McDavid the chance to play against far less opposition, perhaps developing into a star, and providing the Oilers a real shot at winning the series.
But Draisaitl might miss games for the Oilers as well if the NHL Department of Player Safety decides to review this play and consider injury.
