Patrik Laine was injured by Cédric Paré on Saturday night during a title between the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

By now, everyone knows what happened. Laine was subjected to a knee-on-knee collision that wiped him out of the game. Now, the forward is awaiting an official diagnosis and prognosis. Overall, the Habs are currently fearing the worst but are still hoping for the best. At this stage, there is no telling what way the injury update will swing once it finally comes through.
That said, there is at least some encouraging news concerning Laine right now. We say that because the Habs forward was at practice today. While he didn't have his equipment on, he was sitting behind the bench with coaches. He was there to support his guys and also take in some of the game plan.
For Habs fans, this is wonderful to see. Laine didn't have to show up to practice today. However, he chose to because he wanted to be there despite whatever he might be going through mentally. That is the sign of a true leader and a good teammate. Even if some people want to denigrate and diminish Laine as something else.
Hopefully, we will get a positive update on Laine in the near future. As for the worst-case-scenario, that would be something like an ACL tear. We are hoping that is not the case.
Do you believe that Laine has been exceeding expectations in terms of being a good teammate?
