The Detroit Red Wings are going through a tough stretch, dropping seven consecutive games in regulation.

This unexpected slide has seen them squander their nine-point lead in the standings.

To make matters worse, captain Dylan Larkin's injury has left the team struggling on the ice, leading to inconsistent performances. Currently, they sit outside the playoff picture, trailing the Tampa Bay Lightning by four points.

There's a glimmer of hope as Larkin returned to practice yesterday morning at Little Caesars Arena, skating alongside his teammates. However, he's expected to miss the next couple of games against the Buffalo Sabres and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Before his injury, Larkin was having a stellar season with 26 goals and 28 assists, averaging a point per game.

Unfortunately, he sustained the injury during last Saturday's game against the Florida Panthers, which ended in a disappointing 4-0 loss for Detroit.
