Devils suffer significant loss this week, awaiting vital update on key member of the forward group
The New Jersey Devils suffered a substantial loss this week when the team's captain, Nico Hischier was rubbed out along the wall and came away from the hit not feeling quite right. The hit came from New York Islanders defender Ryan Pulock and looked somewhat innocent. He finished the 2nd period, but did not join the team for the 3rd frame. Have a look at the play below:

Even aside from his injury, Hischier has had a rough start to the season, going poinless through 4 games this season. Hopes were high coming into this season, as the 24-year-old had tallied 31 goals and 49 assists through 80 games last season.
The Devils have not said much about Hischier's injury, but we do know that it's an upper-body injury. Here's hoping that he won't miss a lot of time, as the young center has had more than his fair share of injury issues early on in his career.
