NHL fans are excited to see how the whole Utah experiment is going to work out for the league and the city as a whole.

However, many have been skeptical about the team thanks to the fact that they do not have a name. For their inaugural season, they are going to go by Utah Hockey Club. Overall, this is not a name that inspires a whole lot of confidence. However, this is simply a placeholder until the team finds a permanent nickname. Interestingly enough, their current placeholder is a finalist for the permanent nomenclature.
Having said that, it seems as though Clayton Keller of Utah HC has just leaked some very important information. In a report from NHL.com, Keller said that it is probably going to be Yeti. However, he would not confirm if this was the case. This is just based on what he has been hearing.
"It sounds like it's going to be the Yeti, but I don't know," said Keller as per NHL.com. "We'll see what happens. Whatever they choose, I think it'll be a good one."

Yeti has been the odds on favorite to become the team's name. Overall, it is a good name that is in line with what Seattle did with the Kraken. Some were hoping for the name Blizzard, but we think Yet just works a whole lot better, at least for now. Only time will tell whether or not Utah HC ends up making this name final.
