UPDATE: Unfortunate News Update Regarding Joseph Wolls Injury
The Toronto Maple Leafs faced a setback just when it seemed they found a reliable goalie for the number one spot, and the latest news on Joseph Woll's injury is not encouraging.
Woll had to be assisted off the ice during a game against the Ottawa Senators after what seemed like a routine glove save, clearly showing signs of pain. The Maple Leafs released an update, stating that Woll has a sprained ankle.
"Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll is out week-to-week with a high ankle sprain."
With Woll sidelined, the goaltending duties for the Maple Leafs now rest on Ilya Samsonov and Martin Jones perhaps not the news fans were hoping for. Nevertheless, this situation opens up an opportunity for one of them to step up. The unfolding games will reveal how they seize this chance.
