Throughout the last 28 years, Quebec Nordiques fans have been begging and pleading with the NHL to give them their franchise back.

In 1995, the team moved from Quebec to Colorado and immediately won a Stanley Cup in 96. It was a devastating blow to Quebec City, which was already sad about the team's departure. Throughout the years, there have been multiple expansions and relocations, however, Quebec City is never given any consideration.

When Bill Daly came out and said that the league was looking to expand to 34 teams, Quebec Nordiques fans got their hopes up. However, according to powerful agent Allan Walsh, Quebec fans can forget about that right now.

In a recent interview, Walsh confirmed that the NHL is mostly looking to Atlanta and Houston. This is another slap in the face as Atlanta has proven twice already that it cannot support an NHL franchise. Meanwhile, Houston is unproven in the hockey market, even if it supports teams in all of the other major sports leagues.

Only time will tell if the NHL ever changes its tune on Quebec City. Hockey is the only sport that Quebec could support and they every year that goes by, their chances slip lower and lower.

Do you believe that the NHL will ever change its mind about Quebec as an expansion city? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
